We Passed Health and Safety Checks for Our Properties
At Conserve Safari Camps & Lodges, safety is a top priority. We recently completed a health and safety audit conducted by Sanderson Philips, a respected firm specializing in travel safety. We received a Green grade, which allows us to operate without restrictions. A crucial step for us.
It was not easy; the work was tedious, with about 140 items to be completed, but we learned a lot. Here’s what we are currently implementing and actively working on:
First Aid Training: We are actively rolling out first aid training sessions across all properties to ensure all staff have basic first aid knowledge. Our aim is to have a certified first aider available 24/7.
Safety Markings: We are installing warning stickers and etched logos on all full-length glass doors and windows at both adult and child height to enhance visibility and prevent accidents. This will mostly be in our beautiful Central Serengeti Camp Safari View Suites that has glass doors and windows in the front part of tents.
Food Safety System: We are developing and implementing a structured food safety management system based on HACCP principles to maintain high standards throughout all stages of food handling.
Water Quality Monitoring: We are ensuring our potable water meets World Health Organisation (WHO) guidelines through regular testing and monitoring.
Inclusive Emergency Planning: We are updating our emergency plans to account for guests and staff with reduced mobility or other special needs, ensuring everyone’s safety during evacuation procedures.
At Conserve Safari Camps & Lodges, the goal is not just to meet standards but to exceed them. Achieving a Green grade is an important milestone, but our commitment to safety and excellence means continually refining processes to ensure the highest levels of care for guests and staff.
